LEADER-AS-CONVENER WORKSHOP: The Art and Science of Cultivating Collaborative Performance
This dynamic and interactive, one-hour webinar explores the realities facing Forest Service leaders today and highlights the learning opportunities that the Leader-as Convener approach offers in response. Webinar participants will learn more about the philosophy and strategy underlying leadership convening skills, and will have a virtual opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming program and weigh in on their challenges.

Program Description:
This practical, hands-on, three-day workshop is designed for Forest Service leaders and influencers at Regional, Forest and District levels who want to learn collaborative leadership tools designed to engage and motivate diverse stakeholders—both internal and external—to undertake shared challenges together.
Despite the complex challenges in workplace environments characterized by diminishing budgets, competing interests, escalating tensions, and urgent timeframes, the ‘work’ still needs to get done. These tools will enable more fulfilling, concerted and sustainable performance under these conditions. Bringing their ‘live’ issues into the workshop, participants will experience and practice adaptable methodologies and approaches for building group cohesion, capturing knowledge from the field, and easing conflict and overwhelm—all ultimately leading to wiser decision-making. Participants will explore a new leadership mode well suited to addressing the challenges facing the Forest Service leaders today, and begin to lay the strategic steppingstones for a more satisfying and enduring way of working together in the future.
